Ch. 187 2002 LAWS OF MARYLAND
of the matching fund or what money or assets may qualify as matching funds, the
Board of Public Works shall determine the matter and the Board's decision is final.
The grantee has until June 1, [2002] 2004, to present evidence satisfactory to the
Board of Public Works that a matching fund will be provided. If satisfactory evidence
is presented, the Board shall certify this fact and the amount of the matching fund to
the State Treasurer, and the proceeds of the loan equal to the amount of the matching
fund shall be expended for the purposes provided in this Act. Any amount of the loan
in excess of the amount of the matching fund certified by the Board of Public Works
shall be canceled and be of no further effect. SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2002. Approved April 25, 2002.
CHAPTER 187
(Senate Bill 801) AN ACT concerning Christopher's Law IIRepeat-Child Sexual Offenses Crimes - First Degree
Rape and Sexual Offense - Subsequent Offenders
- Imprisonment for Life Without the Possibility of Parole FOR the purpose of establishing a penalty of imprisonment not exceeding life without
the possibility of parole for a person who commits certain sexual offenses
involving a child under a certain age if the person was previously convicted of
certain sexual offenses involving a child under a certain age; requiring the State
to provide certain notice if the State intends to seek a penalty of imprisonment
for life without the possibility of parole
under certain circumstances; providing
for the application of this Act; and generally relating to repeat child sexual
offenses and imprisonment for life without the possibility of parole. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Criminal Law
Section 3-303 through 3-306 and 3-305
