(Senate Bill 568)
AN ACT concerning
Baltimore County - Orphans' Court Judges - Salary Increase
FOR the purpose of increasing to a certain amount the annual salaries of the judges
of the Orphans' Court of Baltimore County; and providing that this Act does not
apply to the salaries or compensation of the incumbent judges of the Orphans'
Court of Baltimore County.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Estates and Trusts
Section 2-108(e)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Estates and Trusts
2-108.
(e) Each of the judges of the Court for Baltimore County shall receive an
annual compensation of [$30,000] $39,000 BEGINNING JULY 1, 2003. The Chief Judge
shall receive an additional [$2,000] $500 annually
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary or compensation of the judges of the Orphans' Court of Baltimore
County in office on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salary or compensation of the judges of the Orphans' Court of
Baltimore County shall take effect at the beginning of during the next following term
of office.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2002.
