Article - Health Occupations
8-204.
(c) In accordance with the State budget, each member of the Board is entitled
to:
(1) [$40 for each day the member is engaged in Board business]
COMPENSATION, AT A RATE DETERMINED BY THE BOARD, FOR EACH DAY ON WHICH
THE MEMBER IS ENGAGED IN THE DUTIES OF THE MEMBER'S OFFICE; and
(2) Reimbursement for expenses under the Standard State Travel
Regulations.
8-802.
Subject to the evaluation and reestablishment provisions of the Program
Evaluation Act, the provisions of this title and of any rule or regulation adopted under
this title shall terminate and be of no effect after July 1, [2003] 2013.
Article - State Government
8-403.
(a) On or before December 15 of the 2nd year before the evaluation date of a
governmental activity or unit, the Legislative Policy Committee, based on a
preliminary evaluation, may waive as unnecessary the evaluation required under this
section.
(b) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (a) of this section, on or before
the evaluation date for the following governmental activities or units, an evaluation
shall be made of the following governmental activities or units and the statutes and
regulations that relate to the governmental activities or units:
(42) Nursing, State Board of (§ 8-201 of the Health Occupations Article:
July 1, [2002] 2012);
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Maryland Board of
Nursing shall report to the Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs
Committee and the House Environmental Matters Committee on or before October 1,
2002, in accordance with § 2-1246 of the State Government Article, on the
implementation of the recommendations of the Department of Legislative Services
contained in the sunset evaluation report dated October 31, 2001. This report shall
include an evaluation of the development, implementation, and effectiveness of an
action plan to reduce the backlog in complaints, and a description of the efforts of the
Board to reduce operating costs through enhanced efficiency in the use of technology
and personnel.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2002.
