AN ACT concerning
Cecil County - Board of County Commissioners
FOR the purpose of altering Commissioner Districts for the Board of County
Commissioners for Cecil County; altering the districts from which the
Commissioners are to be elected to a 2-year term in the election held in
November, 2002, and to 4-year terms thereafter; altering the districts from
which the Commissioners are to be elected to 4-year terms in November, 2002
and thereafter; and generally relating to the Board of County Commissioners for
Cecil County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 8 - Cecil County
15-2.
The Board of County Commissioners of Cecil County shall be elected by the
voters of the county at large and hold office in accordance with the following
provisions:
A. (1) The county shall be divided into five (5) Commissioner Districts.
[(2) Following the decennial census of the United States in 2000, there
shall be established a Commissioner District Committee to issue recommendations on
the boundaries of five Commissioner Districts to the General Assembly.
(3) The Commissioner District Committee shall consist of seven (7)
members, with three (3) members appointed by the County Democratic Central
