Article 87 - Sheriffs
Section 53(b)(3)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1998 Replacement Volume and 2001 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 53(b)(3) through (7), respectively, of Article 87 - Sheriffs
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s) 53(b)(4) through
(8), respectively.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
read as follows:
Article 87 - Sheriffs
53.
(b) (2) Twelve members of each fire company may be designated by the
captain, chief, or other commanding officer of the fire companies in [the counties
listed in paragraph (1) of this subsection] ALLEGANY COUNTY, CARROLL COUNTY,
FREDERICK COUNTY, HARFORD COUNTY, KENT COUNTY, SOMERSET COUNTY,
WICOMICO COUNTY, AND WORCESTER COUNTY and recommended to be appointed
deputy sheriffs by the sheriff of the respective county.
(3) IN CECIL COUNTY, TWENTY MEMBERS OF EACH FIRE COMPANY MAY
BE DESIGNATED BY THE CAPTAIN, CHIEF, OR OTHER COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE
FIRE COMPANY AND RECOMMENDED TO BE APPOINTED AS DEPUTY SHERIFFS BY
THE CECIL COUNTY SHERIFF.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2002.

AN ACT concerning
Montgomery County - Board of Education - Compensation
MC 204-02
FOR the purpose of altering the compensation received by the President and elected
members of the Montgomery County Board of Education; repealing certain
obsolete provisions; providing certain benefits to elected members of the Board
under certain terms and conditions; establishing a certain scholarship for a
student member of the Board who fulfills a certain requirement; providing that
this Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of the incumbent President
