construed to apply only prospectively and may not be applied or interpreted to have
any effect on or application to any contract of sale entered into before the effective
date of this Act.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2002.

(House Bill 357)
AN ACT concerning
Kent County - Treasurer - Salary
FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the Treasurer of Kent County; providing
that this Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of the incumbent
Treasurer of Kent County; and generally relating to the salary of the Treasurer
of Kent County.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 25 - County Commissioners
51.
(t) (1) The annual salary of the County Treasurer of Kent County is:
(i) [$45,000] $48,000 for the calendar year [1999] 2002;
(ii) [$46,000] $50,500 for the calendar year [2000] 2003;
(iii) [$47,000] $53,000 for the calendar year [2001] 2004; [and]
(iv) [$48,000] $55,500 for the calendar year [2002] 2005; AND
(V) $58,000 FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2006 and each subsequent
calendar year.
