(4) Immediately notify, if known, a resident's family or guardian of: (i) An accident involving the resident which results in injury and
has the potential for requiring physician intervention; (ii) A significant change in the resident's physical, mental, or
psychosocial status; or (iii) A need to alter the resident's treatment significantly. 19-1413.1. A PERSON WHO (A) A NURSING HOME THAT VIOLATES § 19-1413(2) OF THIS
SUBTITLE IS SUBJECT TO: (1) A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $50,000; AND (2) THE COST OF REIMBURSING THE OFFICE OF HEALTH CARE QUALITY
FOR
A CIVIL MONEY PENALTY NOT EXCEEDING EXPENSES INCURRED BY THE OFFICE
OF HEALTH CARE QUALITY IN ENSURING A SMOOTH AND ORDERLY TRANSITION OF
RESIDENTS, INCLUDING PAYROLL EXPENSES. (B) IF A CIVIL MONEY PENALTY IS IMPOSED ON A NURSING HOME UNDER
SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION, THE NURSING HOME IS SUBJECT TO § 19-1406 OF
THIS SUBTITLE. SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2002. Approved April 9, 2002.
CHAPTER 48
(House Bill 251) AN ACT concerning St. Mary's County - Public Officials - Salaries FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the State's Attorney for St. Mary's County,
the Treasurer of St. Mary's County, the Sheriff of St. Mary's County, the Judges
of the Orphans' Court for St. Mary's County, the President of the Board of
County Commissioners of St. Mary's County, and the County Commissioners of
St. Mary's County; requiring the Sheriff of St. Mary's County to devote full time
to the duties of office; providing that this Act does not apply to the salary or
compensation of the incumbent State's Attorney for St. Mary's County, the
incumbent Treasurer of St. Mary's County, the incumbent Sheriff of St. Mary's
County, the incumbent Judges of the Orphans' Court for St. Mary's County, the
incumbent President of the Board of County Commissioners of St. Mary's
County, or the incumbent County Commissioners of St. Mary's County; and
generally relating to the salaries of the public officials of St. Mary's County.
