BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 25 - County Commissioners
Section 51(h)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 25 - County Commissioners
51.
(h) The Caroline County Treasurer shall receive an annual salary of
[$39,500] $45,000. This shall be the sole compensation for services performed by the
Treasurer, including services performed as a tax collector and the issuer of licenses.
The County Treasurer shall devote full time to the duties of the office. Any fees,
commissions or other compensation paid to the County Treasurer pursuant to any
other laws of Caroline County or the State of Maryland shall be accounted for by the
County Treasurer and paid into the general funds of Caroline County. The County
Treasurer shall be reimbursed for expenses as provided by the Standard State Travel
Regulations.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary or compensation of the Treasurer of Caroline County in office on
the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the Treasurer of Caroline County shall take effect at the beginning of
the next following term of office.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2002.
