(b) (2) (ii) 2. If the State intends to seek a sentence of imprisonment for
life without the possibility of parole under [subparagraph (1)] SUB-SUBPARAGRAPH
1 of this [paragraph] SUBPARAGRAPH, the State shall notify the person in writing of
the State's intent at least 30 days before trial.

Annotated Code in the 2002 Volume of the Criminal Law Article is ratified

Subtitle 1. [In] General PROVISIONS.
4-101.

(a)     (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.

(d) (1) A person who violates [subsection (c)(1), (2), or (3) of] this section is
guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 3
years or a fine not exceeding $1,000 or both.

Error: Stylistic error in the subtitle name immediately preceding §
4-101 of the Criminal Law Article; extraneous language in § 4-101(d)(l) of
the Criminal Law Article.

Occurred: Chs. 26 and 571, Acts of 2002. Corrections by the publisher of

ratified by this Act.

4-203.

(b)     This section does not prohibit:

(3)     the carrying of a handgun on the person or in a vehicle while the
person is transporting the handgun to or from the place of legal purchase or sale, or
to or from a bona fide repair shop, or between bona fide residences of the person, or
between the bona fide residence and place of business of the person, if the business is
operated and owned substantially by the person IF EACH HANDGUN IS UNLOADED
AND CARRIED IN AN ENCLOSED CASE OR AN ENCLOSED HOLSTER;

(4)     the wearing, carrying, or transporting by a person of a handgun used
in connection with an organized military activity, a target shoot, formal or informal
target practice, sport shooting event, hunting, a Department of Natural
Resources-sponsored firearms and hunter safety class, trapping, or a dog obedience
