Ch. 5

2003 LAWS OF MARYLAND

TERMINATION OF STATE STANDBY PETROLEUM FUEL SET-ASIDE PROGRAM
[10-811.] 1.

[This subtitle] TITLE 14, SUBTITLE 5 OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY ARTICLE shall
remain effective only until July 1, 2005, and, at the end of June 30, 2005, with no
further action required by the General Assembly, [this Act] TITLE 14, SUBTITLE 5 OF
THE PUBLIC SAFETY ARTICLE shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly was Art. 41, § 10-811.

The Public Safety Article Review Committee decided to transfer this
provision to the Session Laws because generally when a subtitle is of
limited duration, the termination provision for the subtitle is not codified.

The only changes are in style.

SECTION 9. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s) 18-104 and
18-108(d) and (e) of Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative
Departments of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed and reenacted, with
amendments, and transferred to the Session Laws, to read as follows:

ENHANCED 911 SYSTEM
[18-104.] 1.

(a)     Any county or any several counties together which seek reimbursement for
the enhancement of a 911 system shall submit to the EMERGENCY NUMBER SYSTEMS
Board a 911 system plan for that county or multicounty area. The county or the
several counties shall submit plans for enhancement of a 911 system on or before July
1, 1993. The plan shall conform to the planning guidelines set by the EMERGENCY
NUMBER SYSTEMS Board and shall be designed to meet the requirements of those
public safety agencies whose services are available through the 911 system. The plan
shall include:

(1)     The type of equipment to be used in enhancing the 911 system,
including associated costs;

(2)     The personnel necessary to operate and maintain the enhanced 911
system;

(3)     The timetable for implementing the enhanced 911 system; and

(4)     Any other information required by the EMERGENCY NUMBER
SYSTEMS Board.

(b)     Those counties which do not seek reimbursement for the cost of enhancing
a 911 system shall submit a report to the EMERGENCY NUMBER SYSTEMS Board by
July 1, 1995 containing the same information required in the county plans described
in subsection (a) of this section.
