ROBERT L. EHRLICH, JR., Governor

Ch. 5

(2)      AN EXECUTIVE ORDER ISSUED UNDER THIS SECTION MAY NOT
CONTINUE FOR LONGER THAN 30 DAYS UNLESS THE GOVERNOR RENEWS THE
EXECUTIVE ORDER

(3)      EACH EXECUTIVE ORDER ISSUED UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL
INDICATE:

(I)      THE NATURE OF THE EMERGENCY IN THE OTHER STATE; AND

(II)     ANY CIRCUMSTANCES THAT MAKE SUSPENSION OF A STATUTE,
RULE, OR REGULATION NECESSARY TO AID THE OTHER STATE WITH ITS EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS.

(4)      EACH EXECUTIVE ORDER SHALL BE:

(I)      DISSEMINATED PROMPTLY BY MEANS CALCULATED TO
PUBLICIZE ITS CONTENTS; AND

(II)     FILED PROMPTLY WITH:

1.       MEMA;

2.       THE STATE ARCHIVES; AND

3.       EACH AGENCY OF THE STATE OR A POLITICAL
SUBDIVISION THAT IS AUTHORIZED BY THE ORDER TO USE RESOURCES IN THE
OTHER STATE OR RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF ANY PROVISIONS THAT
ARE SUSPENDED BY THE EXECUTIVE ORDER.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 16A, § 6D.

In subsection (a)(1) of this section, the reference to the "other" state is
substituted for the former reference to the state "requesting assistance" for
brevity.

In subsections (a)(2) and (b)(1) of this section, the reference to "the effect of
any" statute, rule, or regulation is added for clarity.

In subsection (b)(4)(i) of this section, the phrase "to publicize its contents"
is substituted for the former phrase "to bring its contents to the attention
of the general public" for clarity and brevity.

In subsection (b)(4)(ii)3 of this section, the reference to each "agency of the
State or a political subdivision" is substituted for the former reference to
each "State or local agency" for clarity and consistency throughout this
section and this subtitle.

Defined terms: "Emergency" § 14-101

"Emergency management" § 14-101
"Political subdivision" § 14-101
"State" § 1-101
