ROBERT L. EHRLICH, JR., Governor

Ch. 5

A LOCAL JURISDICTION THAT AMENDS THE MBRC IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY
FUNDING APPROPRIATED ABOVE THE APPROPRIATION IN FISCAL YEAR 2000 FOR:

(1)      CIRCUIT RIDER MBRC INSPECTORS PROVIDED UNDER THE CIRCUIT
RIDER PROGRAM IN THE DEPARTMENT;

(2)      TRAINING FOR THE LOCAL JURISDICTION'S CODE ENFORCEMENT

(5)      THE RURAL LEGACY PROGRAM ESTABLISHED UNDER TITLE 5,
SUBTITLE 9A OF THE NATURAL RESOURCES ARTICLE.

(E) SAME — EFFECT ON ELIGIBILITY FOR PRIORITY UNDER TRANSPORTATION
ENHANCEMENTS PROGRAMS.

A LOCAL JURISDICTION THAT AMENDS THE MBRC IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A
PRIORITY UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S TRANSPORTATION
ENHANCEMENTS PROGRAMS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 83B, § 6-503(f) and (c)(2).

In subsection (a) of this section, the reference to adopting "amendments" to
the MBRC is substituted for the former reference to adopting "revisions" to
the MBRC for accuracy. See, e.g., SG § 10-112(c).

In subsection (b)(1) of this section, the former reference to a local
jurisdiction adopting "local" amendments to the MBRC is deleted as
unnecessary in light of the reference to the amendments applying "only to
the local jurisdiction".

Defined terms: "County" § 1-101
"Department" § 12-1001
"Local jurisdiction" § 12-1001
"MBRC" § 12-1001

GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE TO TITLE:

Former Art. 48, §§ 111 through 115, which were enacted in 1894 and which
provided for the inspection by police officers of scaffolding used in the construction,
repairing, or painting of buildings, are deleted as obsolete. Inspection of scaffolding is
covered under regulations adopted under the Maryland Occupational Safety and
Health Act.
