H.B. 325

VETOES

Environmental Matters Health and Government Operations Committee on or before
October 1, 2003, in accordance with § 2-1246 of the State Government Article, on the
implementation of the recommendations of the Department of Legislative Services
contained in the sunset evaluation report dated October 2002.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2003.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed House Bill 325 - Procurement - Percentage Price Preference for Recycled
Materials - Chicken Litter.

This bill includes processed and pasteurized chicken litter in the percentage price
preference for recycled materials.

Senate Bill 473, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 325.

AN ACT concerning

Procurement - Percentage Price Preference for Recycled Materials -

Chicken Litter

FOR the purpose of establishing a certain percentage price preference for items made
with processed and pasteurized chicken litter; altering the definition of a certain
term; providing for a certain effective date; and generally relating to a
percentage price preference for chicken litter.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - State Finance and Procurement
Section 14-405
Annotated Code of Maryland
(2001 Replacement Volume and 2002 Supplement)
