[(vii)] 7. Title 17 of this article ("Special Provisions - State and
Local Subdivisions").

(II) TITLE 14, SUBTITLE 3 OF THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO A
PROCUREMENT BY THE MARYLAND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES
ADMINISTRATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE EXEMPT
UNDER SUBSECTION (A)(1)(XVIII) OF THIS SECTION.

(2) A procurement by an entity listed in subsection (a)(1)(i) through
[(xv)] (XVIII) of this section shall be made under procedures that promote the
purposes stated in § 11-201(a) of this subtitle.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2003.

(House Bill 1125)

AN ACT concerning

Private Passenger Motor Vehicle Insurance - Underwriting Standards -

Statistical Validation

FOR the purpose of expanding clarifying a certain provision of law relating to
underwriting standards for private passenger motor vehicle insurance;
providing that underwriting standards that are reasonably related to an
insurer's economic and business purposes and do not require statistical
validation include a conviction of the named insured or a covered driver under a
private passenger motor vehicle insurance policy of a violation of certain
prohibitions against driving or attempting to drive while under the influence of
alcohol or alcohol per se, or while impaired by alcohol, drugs, drugs and alcohol,
or certain controlled dangerous substances; and generally relating to
underwriting standards for private passenger motor vehicle insurance.
