AN ACT concerning

Task Force to Study the Reorganization of the Department of Health and

Mental Hygiene

FOR the purpose of establishing the Task Force to Study the Reorganization of the
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; providing for the membership,
chairman, and staff for the Task Force; providing that a member of the Task
Force may receive certain reimbursement as provided in the State budget;
providing for the duties of the Task Force; requiring the Task Force to submit a
certain report on or before a certain date; providing for the termination of this
Act; and generally relating to the Task Force to Study the Reorganization of the
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:

(a)     There is a Task Force to Study the Reorganization of the Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene.

(b)     The Task Force consists of the following members:

(1)     two members of the Senate of Maryland, appointed by the President
of the Senate;

(2)     two members of the House of Delegates, appointed by the Speaker of
the House;

(3)     three representatives from the Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene, appointed by the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene;

(4)     one representative from the Department of Budget and Management,
appointed by the Secretary of Budget and Management;

(5)     one local health officer, appointed by the Department of Health and
Mental Hygiene;

(6)     one representative from the Association of Maryland Hospitals and
Health Systems;

(7)     one representative from the Mental Health Association of Maryland;

(8)     one representative of the Maryland Association of Nonprofit
Organizations; and

(9)     one individual with expertise in reorganization of State agencies,
appointed by the Department of Budget and Management;
