(2) begin a process for updating the State health plan's hospice chapter,
using data the Commission independently collects:
(i) without relying on or delegating the collection of data to any
nongovernmental entity; and
(ii) by soliciting input from hospice providers, experts, clinicians,
and hospice volunteers.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Maryland Health
Care Commission shall review each of its rulings and determinations that, prior to
the effective date of this Act, granted authority to operate a statewide hospice care
program to ensure that the program continues to serve only those individuals who,
immediately prior to entering the hospice care program, were receiving other care
from a facility directly affiliated with the hospice care provider or within the hospice
care provider's network.
SECTION 3. 2. 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October July 1, 2003.

(House Bill 12)
AN ACT concerning
Criminal Procedure - Sexual Offender Registration - Change of Name
FOR the purpose of requiring a registrant who is granted a legal change of name by a
court to send written notice to the Department of Public Safety and Correctional
Services within a certain time after the change is granted; clarifying that a
registration statement must include a registrant's full name, including any
suffix; requiring a registration statement to include any other name by which a
registrant has been legally known; requiring a supervising authority to explain
to a registrant the requirement to give notice of a name change; requiring the
Department to give notice to certain entities of a registrant's change of name
within a certain time; providing a certain penalty for a registrant's failure to
provide notice of a name change; and generally relating to sexual offender
registration and change of name.
