Ch. 369                                    2003 LAWS OF MARYLAND

17-539.

ALL TRUST MONEY PAID ON ACCOUNT OF A TRANSACTION INVOLVING
COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE IN THIS STATE SHALL BE RECEIVED AND DEPOSITED IN
THE TRUST ACCOUNT OF THE MARYLAND BROKER IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART I OF
THIS SUBTITLE.

BY FILING THE WRITTEN CONSENT REQUIRED UNDER § 17-537(B)(6) OF THIS
SUBTITLE, THE NONRESIDENT REAL ESTATE BROKER OR NONRESIDENT REAL
ESTATE SALESPERSON APPOINTS THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE COMMISSION
AS AGENT TO RECEIVE A SUBPOENA, SUMMONS, OR OTHER PROCESS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2003.

(Senate Bill 223)

AN ACT concerning

Right to Breast-Feed

FOR the purpose of authorizing a mother to breast-feed her child in any public or
private place under certain circumstances; prohibiting certain restrictions on
breast-feeding; and generally relating to the right to breast-feed.

BY adding to

Article - Health - General

Section 20-801 to be under the new subtitle "Subtitle 8. Breast-Feeding"

Annotated Code of Maryland

(2000 Replacement Volume and 2002 Supplement)

Preamble

WHEREAS, More than 2 decades of research have established that breast-fed
infants have lower rates of hospital admissions, ear infections, diarrhea, rashes,
allergies, and other medical problems than bottle-fed infants; and

WHEREAS, The American Academy of Pediatrics states that human milk is
made for human infants and meets all their specific nutritional needs; and

WHEREAS, Human breast milk contains antibodies from the mother that can
help an infant resist infections; and
