2003 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(2) pays to the Board a [renewal] PERMIT fee [of $150] SET BY THE
BOARD.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the State Board of
Certified Interior Designers shall report to the Senate Education, Health, and
Environmental Affairs Committee and the House Economic Matters Committee on or
before October 1, 2003, in accordance with § 2-1246 of the State Government Article,
on the implementation of the recommendations of the Department of Legislative
Services contained in the sunset evaluation report dated October 2002.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That any member of the State
Board of Certified Interior Designers who has served more than two consecutive
terms may continue to serve the remainder of the term, or until the member's
successor is appointed. On the expiration of two consecutive full terms the member
shall be ineligible, for one year thereafter, for reappointment to the Board.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That any officer of the State
Board of Certified Interior Designers who has served more than three consecutive
years may continue to serve the remainder of the term, or until the officer's successor
is appointed. On the expiration of three consecutive years the member shall be
ineligible, for one year thereafter, for reappointment as an officer of the Board.

SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the State Board of
Architects, the State Board of Certified Interior Designers, the State Board of
Examiners of Landscape Architects, the State Board for Professional Engineers, and
the State Board for Professional Land Surveyors shall report, in accordance with §
2-1246 of the State Government Article, on or before:

(1)     June 1, 2003, to the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee, the
House Appropriations Committee, and the Legislative Auditor on the accuracy and
completeness of the direct costs allocated to the design boards; and

(2)     October 1, 2004, and by October 1 of each subsequent year, to the
Senate Budget and Taxation Committee, the Senate Education, Health, and
Environmental Affairs Committee, the House Appropriations Committee, and the
House Economic Matters Committee on the implementation of the Occupational and
Professional Licensing Design Boards' Fund established under Section 2 of this Act.

SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That any fees repealed under
this Act shall remain in full force and effect until the fees authorized to be set in
accordance with Section 2 of this Act are adopted and made effective.

SECTION 8. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections 2, 6, and 7 of
this Act shall remain effective for a period of 5 years and 1 month and, at the end of
June 30, 2008, with no further action required by the General Assembly, these
sections shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.

SECTION 9. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections 1, 3, 4, and 5 of
this Act shall take effect July 1, 2003.

SECTION 10. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, except as provided in
Section 9 of this Act, this Act shall take effect June 1, 2003.
