2003 LAWS OF MARYLAND

4-204. ANNUAL REPORT.

ON OR BEFORE MARCH 1 OF EACH YEAR, THE SECRETARY SHALL REPORT TO
THE GOVERNOR AND, SUBJECT TO § 2-1246 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE, TO
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON:

(1)      THE STATUS OF THE FUND;

(2)      THE GRANTS MADE UNDER THIS SUBTITLE;

(3)      THE COSTS OF ADMINISTERING THIS SUBTITLE; AND

(4)      THE EFFECT OF THIS SUBTITLE IN REDUCING THE PROBLEM OF
DRIVERS ILLEGALLY FAILING TO STOP FOR SCHOOL VEHICLES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 88B, § 86.

In the introductory language of this section, the former phrase "on or
before March 1, 2002" is deleted as obsolete and unnecessary given the
ongoing reporting requirement.

In item (4) of this section, the reference to "illegally" failing to stop is added
for clarity and consistency throughout this subtitle.

SUBTITLE 3. LAW ENFORCEMENT EQUIPMENT FUND.
4-301. DEFINITIONS.

(A)     IN GENERAL.

IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly was Art. 41, § 4-101(a)(1).

In this subsection and throughout this subtitle, the word "subtitle" is
substituted for the former word "section" to reflect the reorganization of
former § 4-101 as a subtitle in this revision.

No other changes are made.

(B)     EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

"EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR" MEANS THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE
GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION.
