REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 88B, § 30(e).

In subsection (a)(1) of this section, the reference to the duty of the
Secretary to "make grants" is substituted for the former reference to the
duty to "grant awards" for consistency with terminology used throughout
this subtitle and this article. Similarly, in subsection (a)(2) of this section,
the reference to a "grant" is substituted for the former reference to an
"award".

In subsection (b) of this section, the reference to any "money" remaining in
the Fund is substituted for the former reference to any "funds" remaining
for consistency with terminology used throughout this subtitle and this
article. Consequently, the reference to "money" is substituted for the
former reference to "aid" for consistency within this subsection.

Defined terms: "Fund" § 4-101

"Local law enforcement agency" § 4-101
"Protective body armor" § 4-101
