submit a report that presents all of the data collected from the county boards in a
comprehensive manner to the Senate Education. Health, and Environmental Affairs
Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee on or before December 31 of
each year.
SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED. That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2003.

(Senate Bill 34)
AN ACT concerning
Somerset County - Ferry Companies—Franchises Company - Franchise
FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of Somerset County to
grant one or more franchises a franchise for a ferry company to operate from
between Somerset County and Reedville, Virginia on a nonexclusive an
exclusive basis; requiring the County Commissioners of Somerset County to
review a certain proposed business and financial plan at a certain time;
authorizing the County Commissioners of Somerset County to adopt certain
regulations that are consistent with certain regulations adopted by the Public
Service Commission; providing that a ferry company granted a franchise under
this Act has a certain period of time in which to exercise the franchise, after
which the franchise is null and void; prohibiting a ferry company granted a
franchise under this Act from conducting certain any gambling or gaming
activities on any ferry that it operates under the franchise; providing that the
granting of a franchise under this Act may not be construed to prohibit or
restrict the operation of certain passenger ferry service between certain
locations; and generally relating to a public transportation franchises franchise
in Somerset County.
