Special Fund Appropriation...........................

Federal Fund Appropriation, provided that
this appropriation shall be reduced by
$247,000 contingent on enactment of

legislation eliminating the

employer-sponsored coverage component
of the Maryland Children's Health
Program.......................................................

Provided that the Department of Health and
Mental Hygiene (DHMH) may not enroll
any new children with family incomes in
excess of 200 percent of the federal
poverty level in the Maryland Children's
Health Program during fiscal 2004.
Further provided that DHMH shall
require the parent or guardian of a
Maryland Children's Health Program
participant with a family income above
185 percent, but at or below 200 percent of
the federal poverty guidelines to pay a
premium in an amount equal to 2 percent
of the annual income of a family of two at
185 percent of the federal poverty
guidelines. The family contribution
amount required above shall apply on a
per family basis regardless of the number
of eligible individuals each family has
enrolled in the Maryland Children's
Health Program.
