provided. If satisfactory evidence is presented, the Board shall certify this fact and
the amount of the matching fund to the State Treasurer, and the proceeds of the loan
equal to the amount of the matching fund shall be expended for the purposes provided
in this Act. Any amount of the loan in excess of the amount of the matching fund
certified by the Board of Public Works shall be canceled and be of no further effect.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2000.

(House Bill 1417)
AN ACT concerning
Washington County - Washington County Water and Sewer Debt Reduction
Fund
FOR the purpose of establishing the Washington County Water and Sewer Debt
Reduction Fund; requiring the County Commissioners for Washington County to
appropriate a certain amount to the Fund annually; providing that a certain
appropriation to the Fund is in addition to funds appropriated for a certain other
purpose; requiring that the amount of any reduction in a certain subsidy be
appropriated to the Fund under certain circumstances; making this Act
contingent on the taking effect of a certain other Act Acts; and generally relating
to the Washington County Water and Sewer Debt Reduction Fund.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 22 - Washington County
6-505.
(A) THERE IS A WASHINGTON COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DEBT REDUCTION
FUND.
(B) THE FUND IS A CONTINUOUS, NONLAPSING FUND.
(C) (1) THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL ANNUALLY APPROPRIATE
$500,000 TO THE FUND.
