CHAPTER 147
(House Bill 639)
AN ACT concerning
Washington County - Orphans' Court - Hours of Operation
FOR the purpose of altering a certain provision of law to provide that the days and
hours of operation of the Washington County Orphans' Court shall be set by the
court Court, in its judgment, to meet the requirements of public business and
convenience.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
The Public Local Laws of Washington County
Section 3-401
Article 22 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1991 Edition and December 1997 Supplement, as amended)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 22 - Washington County
3-401.
The sessions of the Orphans' Court of Washington County shall be held on
Tuesday and Friday of each week [from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.,] and on other THE days
AND DURING HOURS as in the judgment of the Court the public business and
convenience requires.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2000.

AN ACT concerning
Somerset County - Fairmount Volunteer Fire Company
FOR the purpose of requiring the County Commissioners of Somerset County to
appropriate to the Fairmount Volunteer Fire Company a certain amount for
fiscal year 2001; mandating that the required appropriation to the Fairmount
Volunteer Fire Company for fiscal year 2001 shall remain in effect for
subsequent fiscal years unless altered by future enactment; deleting obsolete
language; making stylistic changes; and generally relating to the Fairmount
