PARRIS N. GLENDENING, Governor
as matching funds, the Board of Public Works shall determine the matter and the
Board's decision is final. The grantee has until June 1, [2000] 2002, to present
evidence satisfactory to the Board of Public Works that a matching fund will be
provided. If satisfactory evidence is presented, the Board shall certify this fact and
the amount of the matching fund to the State Treasurer, and the proceeds of the loan
equal to the amount of the matching fund shall be expended for the purposes provided
in this Act. Any amount of the loan in excess of the amount of the matching fund
certified by the Board of Public Works shall be canceled and be of no further effect. SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 2000. Approved April 25, 2000.
CHAPTER 137
(House Bill 536) AN ACT concerning Baltimore City - Tax Credit Termination Date - Newly Constructed and First Purchased Dwellings FOR the purpose of repealing altering the termination date applicable to certain
provisions authorizing the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City to grant,
by law, a property tax credit against the local property tax imposed on newly
constructed dwellings or first purchased dwellings under certain circumstances;
and generally relating to the property tax credit for newly constructed dwellings
or first purchased dwellings in Baltimore City. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 9-304(d)
Annotated Code of Maryland (1994 Replacement Volume and 1999 Supplement) SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Article - Tax - Property 9-304. (d) (1) (i) In this subsection the following words have the meanings
indicated. (ii) 1. "Newly constructed dwelling" means residential real
property that has not been previously occupied since its construction and for which
the building permit for construction was issued on or after October 1, 1994.
