Board of Social Work Examiners; altering the term of the chairman and
secretary of the Board; requiring the Board to appoint an executive director;
requiring certain individuals to hold certain licenses before practicing social
work or clinical social work in this State; altering certain exemptions from
licensing; altering certain qualification, education, training, and experience
requirements that applicants must meet to obtain certain social work licenses;
altering certain application and examination procedures and requirements for
applicants for licenses; clarifying the scope of certain licenses to practice social
work; altering certain continuing education requirements for license renewals;
altering certain requirements and procedures for placing certain licenses on
inactive status for a certain period of time; authorizing the Board to fine a
licensee a certain amount under certain circumstances; altering certain grounds
for disciplinary action against applicants and licensees; altering certain
requirements and procedures for reinstating certain licenses under certain
circumstances; requiring licensees to provide certain disclosures to clients;
prohibiting certain acts; repealing certain obsolete provisions; defining certain
terms; requiring the Board, in consultation with certain agencies, to adopt
certain regulations by a certain date; and generally relating to the revision of
the Maryland Social Workers Act.
