Article - Transportation 10-204.
Title III Article VI 14. - (c) The Board, in the preparation, revision, alteration or amendment of a
mass transit plan, shall (3) To the extent not inconsistent with or duplicative of the planning
process specified in subparagraph (2) of this paragraph (c), cooperate with the
National Capital Planning Commission, the National Capital Regional Planning
Council, the Washington Metropolitan Council of Governments, the Washington
Metropolitan Area Transit Commission, the highway agencies of the signatories, the
Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, the Northern Virginia
Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission, the Maryland [Office]
DEPARTMENT of Planning and the Commission of Fine Arts. Such cooperation shall
include the creation, as necessary, of technical committees composed of personnel,
appointed by such agencies, concerned with planning and collection and analysis of
data relative to decision-making in the transportation planning process. 15. (a) Before a mass transit plan is adopted, altered, revised or amended, the
Board shall transmit such proposed plan, alteration, revision or amendment for
comment to the following and to such other agencies as the Board shall determine: (10) The Maryland [Office] DEPARTMENT of Planning; and SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 3 of this Act
may not take effect until similar Acts are passed by the District of Columbia and the
Commonwealth of Virginia; that the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of
Virginia are requested to concur in this Act of the General Assembly by the passage of
substantially similar Acts; that the Department of Legislative Services shall notify
the appropriate officials of the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Virginia
and the United States Congress of the passage of this Act; and that, upon the
concurrence in this Act by the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Virginia
and the United States, the Governor of the State of Maryland shall issue a
proclamation declaring this Act valid and effective and shall forward a copy of the
proclamation to the Executive Director of the Department of Legislative Services. SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That it is the intent of the
General Assembly that there shall be no increases in the State budget of the
Department of Planning for fiscal year 2001 or any fiscal year thereafter directly
resulting from removing the Office of Planning from the Executive Department and
creating the Department of Planning as a principal department of State government.
