The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis MD 21401
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 302 - Sales and Use Tax - Bulk Vending Machines.
This bill exempts merchandise sold through a "bulk vending machine" from the sales
and use tax if the merchandise costs 25 cents or less.
House Bill 394, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me today,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 302.
Sincerely,
Parris N. Glendening
Governor
Senate Bill No. 302

FOR the purpose of exempting from the sales and use tax certain sales of tangible
personal property through bulk vending machines; defining a certain term; and
generally relating to a sales and use tax exemption for certain sales of tangible
personal property through bulk vending machines.
