CONCILIATION CONFERENCE, THE COURT MAY ISSUE A BODY ATTACHMENT OR
COMPEL COMPLIANCE IN ANY OTHER MANNER AVAILABLE TO THE COURT TO
ENFORCE ITS ORDER
[(h)] (J) The powers of the Secretary to carry out the provisions of this section
shall be construed liberally.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2000.

AN ACT concerning
Transportation - Law Enforcement Officers' Bill of Rights
FOR the purpose of clarifying that officers of the Maryland Transportation Authority
Police are covered under and afforded the rights provided by the Law
Enforcement Officers' Bill of Rights.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments
Section 727(b)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments
727.
(b) "Law enforcement officer" means any person who, in an official capacity, is
authorized by law to make arrests and who is a member of one of the following law
enforcement agencies:
(1) The Department of State Police;
(2) The Baltimore City Police Department;
(3) The Baltimore City School Police Force;
(4) The police department, bureau, or force of any county;
(5) The police department, bureau, or force of any incorporated city or
town;
