Ch. 608 2000 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(I) PROVIDE COST-SHARE ASSISTANCE TO LANDOWNERS FOR
PLANTING UPLAND WILDLIFE HABITAT;
(II) PROVIDE MATCHING FUNDS TO ACQUIRE GRANT FUNDING FOR
UPLAND WILDLIFE HABITAT PROGRAMS;
(III) HIRE CONTRACTUAL STAFF TO IMPLEMENT UPLAND WILDLIFE
HABITAT PROGRAMS IN THE STATE; AND
(IV) PROMOTE THE UPLAND WILDLIFE HABITAT FUND AND UPLAND
WILDLIFE HABITAT PROGRAMS.
(8) THE SECRETARY MAY PRIORITIZE THE DUTIES UNDER PARAGRAPH
(7) OF THIS SUBSECTION TO MAXIMIZE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF UPLAND WILDLIFE
HABITAT PROGRAMS.
(8) (9) A DESIGNATED PERSON WHO SELLS HUNTING LICENSES
UNDER THIS SECTION AND WHO ALSO COLLECTS DONATIONS FOR THE UPLAND
WILDLIFE HABITAT FUND MAY RETAIN AS COMPENSATION 10% OF EACH DONATION
THE PERSON RECEIVES.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2000.

(House Bill 481)
AN ACT concerning
Resident Agents - Service
FOR the purpose of allowing certain units of the State government and political
subdivisions and other local entities to file with the Department of Assessments
and Taxation the names, addresses, designations, and written consents of
persons on whom process and notice may be served on behalf of the entities;
providing for a change of address of a resident agent under certain
circumstances; authorizing a resident agent to resign under certain
circumstances; specifying that there is no charge for these filings; providing for
the effect of these filings; providing for the effect of service on a resident agent;
providing for the construction of this Act; providing for the effective date of this
Act; and generally relating to resident agents for certain governmental agencies.
