(2) If a market established by the County is operating on land that is
subsequently annexed by a municipal corporation, the County may continue to
operate the market. (c) The County Commissioners may adopt regulations to carry out this
section. [3-81.] 3-113. Right to farm. (a) Subject to subsection (b) of this section, the County Commissioners may
adopt ordinances or regulations, or take any other action that the County
Commissioners consider necessary, to protect a person's right to farm or to engage in
agricultural operations. (b) Before adopting ordinances or regulations or taking other action under this
section, the County Commissioners shall hold a public hearing and shall provide
notice of the hearing in accordance with the procedures in Article 25, § 3(r) of the
Annotated Code of Maryland. SUBTITLE 2. PURCHASE PROPERTY; LEVYING POWER
[3-3.] 3-201. Levy for Historical Society. The County Commissioners of Carroll County are [hereby] authorized to levy
annually [such] a sum [as they may deem] THAT IS reasonable or necessary for the
use and benefit of the Historical Society of Carroll County, Maryland, Inc. [3-4.] 3-202. Same; purchase of property. The County Commissioners of Carroll County are authorized to purchase
property for the use of the Historical Society of Carroll County, Inc., and to expend
[therefor] a sum FOR THE PROPERTY not to exceed $30,000. The Commissioners are
also authorized to grant the title to [such] THE property to The Historical Society of
Carroll County, Inc., without consideration. [3-5.] 3-203. Levy for retarded children; construction. The County Commissioners of Carroll County are authorized to levy [such] a
sum as they deem reasonable or necessary to be appropriated to the Carroll County
Association of Retarded Children, Inc., to be used for construction purposes. [3-6.] 3-204. Same; unspecified. The County Commissioners may appropriate a sum to be paid to the Carroll
County Association for Retarded Children to be determined by the County
Commissioners. [3-7.] 3-205. Levy for Children's Aid Society. The County Commissioners of Carroll County are authorized to levy annually
and collect from the assessable property in Carroll County, as other taxes are levied
and collected, a sum not to exceed 1¢ per $100.00 of the value of [such] THE property,
which sum of money the [said] County Commissioners shall pay to the Carroll
County Children's Aid Society.
