(II) IS ENROLLED IN A 2-YEAR TERMINAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
IN WHICH THE COURSE WORK IS ACCEPTABLE FOR TRANSFER CREDIT FOR AN
ACCREDITED BACCALAUREATE PROGRAM IN AN ELIGIBLE INSTITUTION; AND [(1)] (3) Is at least 16 years old and a son or daughter of a member of the
armed forces who was a resident of this State at the time the parent: (i) Died or was totally and permanently disabled as a result of
military service after December 7, 1941; or (ii) Was declared to be a prisoner of war or missing in action, if that
occurred on or after January 1, 1960 as a result of the Vietnam conflict, and if the
child was born prior to or while the parent was a prisoner of war or missing in action; [(2)] (4) Was a prisoner of war on or after January 1, 1960 as a result of
the Vietnam conflict and was a resident of this State at the time the person was
declared to be a prisoner of war or missing in action; [(3)] (5) (i) Is at least 16 years old and a son or daughter of any State
or local public safety employee killed in the line of duty; or (ii) Is the surviving spouse of any State or local public safety
employee killed in the line of duty; or [(4)] (6) Is a disabled public safety employee. 18-603. (a) There is a program of tuition assistance under this section. (b) Any career or volunteer fire fighter, ambulance or rescue squad member
WHO IS A RESIDENT OF MARYLAND shall receive full and complete reimbursement by
the Administration for tuition costs not to exceed the resident tuition rates at the
University of Maryland, College Park for courses credited toward a degree in fire
service technology or emergency medical technology. 18-704. (a) (1) In this section the following words have the meaning indicated. (9) [(i)] "Service obligation" means the obligation of recipients to
provide physical or occupational therapy to handicapped children [in a public school
in Maryland or handicapped children placed in a nonpublic education program as
provided under § 8-406 of this article, the first year of which is provided under the
full-time, on-site supervision of a licensed physical or occupational therapist who has
at least 2 years' experience in a school program. (ii) "Service obligation" may include service performed in a State
therapeutic hospital determined by the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene to
have a severe shortage of physical or occupational therapists providing the
requirement of subsection (c)(2) of this section has been met].
