FOR the purpose of requiring certain students enrolled in institutions of higher
education to receive a certain vaccination or sign a certain waiver; requiring the
parent or guardian of the student to sign the waiver if the student is a minor;
requiring the Secretary of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, in
consultation with the Maryland Higher Education Commission, to adopt certain
regulations; providing that certain institutions of higher education are not
required to provide or pay for vaccinations for meningococcal disease; requiring
the Commission to assist in implementing certain requirements; and generally
relating to vaccination against infectious and contagious diseases.

'SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 11-105(s) and (t), respectively, of Article - Education of
the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s) 11-105(t) and (u),
respectively.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
read as follows:

(S) THE COMMISSION SHALL ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND
MENTAL HYGIENE IN IMPLEMENTING THE VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS ADOPTED
UNDER § 18-102(B) OF THE HEALTH - GENERAL ARTICLE.
