SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2000.

(House Bill 1306)
AN ACT concerning
Town of Oakland, Garrett County - Participation by Employees in
Employees' Pension System
FOR the purpose of making it mandatory, and not optional, for certain employees of
the Town of Oakland, Garrett County to participate in the Employees' Pension
System of the State of Maryland as of a certain date; providing for certain
employees of the Town of Oakland to receive service credit for certain prior
service, except for an employee that becomes a member of the Employees'
Pension System after the effective date of participation in the Employees'
Pension System by the Town of Oakland; and generally relating to the
participation of certain employees of the Town of Oakland, Garrett County, in
the Employees' Pension System.
