156C.
(a) This section does not apply in Frederick County AND CALVERT COUNTY if
the Board of County Commissioners of Frederick County [adopts] OR CALVERT
COUNTY ADOPT regulations under Article 25, [§ 221A] §§ 211A AND 237 of the Code
providing for the registration of alarm system contractors and alarm users and the
issuance of civil citations and penalties for violations of the regulations.
(b) Except for alarm systems activated by acts of God, weather conditions, or
causes beyond the control of the. alarm user, an alarm system that is negligently or
accidentally activated as the result of faulty, malfunctioning, or improperly installed
or maintained equipment shall be subject to the provisions of subsections (c) and (d) of
this section.
(c) A law enforcement agency or fire department may issue a civil citation to
an alarm user if the number of false alarms to which any law enforcement agency or
fire department actually responds exceeds:
(1) 3 responses within a 30-day period; or
(2) 8 or more responses within a 12-month period.
(d) The civil citation shall include a fine of:
(1) $30 for each initial false alarm; and
(2) $30 for each additional false alarm.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2000.

(House Bill 962)
AN ACT concerning
Creation of a State Debt - Talbot County - Chesapeake Bay Maritime
Museum
FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State Debt not to exceed $9900,000
$550,000 $400,000, the proceeds to be used as a grant to the Board of Governors
of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, Inc. for certain development or
improvement purposes; providing for disbursement of the loan proceeds, subject
to a requirement that the grantee provide and expend a matching fund; and
providing generally for the issuance and sale of bonds evidencing the loan.
