(D) THE DEAN OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SCHOOL OF NURSING
SHALL SERVE AS THE CHAIRMAN OF THE ADVISORY BOARD.
(E) (1) EXCEPT FOR THE EX OFFICIO AND LEGISLATIVE MEMBERS, THE
TERM OF A MEMBER IS 3 YEARS.
(2) EXCEPT FOR THE EX OFFICIO AND LEGISLATIVE MEMBERS, THE
TERMS OF MEMBERS ARE STAGGERED AS REQUIRED BY THE TERMS PROVIDED FOR
MEMBERS OF THE BOARD ON OCTOBER 1, 2000.
(3) AT THE END OF A TERM, A MEMBER CONTINUES TO SERVE UNTIL A
SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED.
(4) A MEMBER WHO IS APPOINTED AFTER A TERM HAS BEGUN SERVES
ONLY FOR THE REST OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED.
(F) THE BOARD SHALL MEET AT LEAST FOUR TIMES EACH YEAR, AT THE
TIMES AND PLACES THAT IT DETERMINES.
13-1003.
(A) THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SCHOOL OF NURSING AND THE ADVISORY
BOARD SHALL ENSURE THAT THE FOLLOWING GEOGRAPHIC AREAS ARE SERVED BY
THE PROGRAM:
(1) WESTERN MARYLAND;
(2) THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA;
(3) THE BALTIMORE METROPOLITAN AREA;
(4) SOUTHERN/CENTRAL MARYLAND;
(5) THE UPPER EASTERN SHORE; AND
(6) THE LOWER EASTERN SHORE.
(B) THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SCHOOL OF NURSING AND THE ADVISORY
BOARD SHALL:
(1) DEVELOP PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENTS,
HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS, BUSINESSES, AND OTHER
ENTITIES THAT CAN FACILITATE THE PROVISION OF PRIMARY AND PREVENTIVE
HEALTH CARE SERVICES THROUGH THE PROGRAM;
(2) SOLICIT PUBLIC AND PRIVATE GRANTS AND DONATIONS ON BEHALF
OF THE PROGRAM; AND
(3) DEVELOP A MECHANISM FOR RECEIVING THIRD PARTY
REIMBURSEMENT.
(C) THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SCHOOL OF NURSING. BALTIMORE MAY
ESTABLISH A NONPROFIT CORPORATION TO ACCEPT ANY PUBLIC AND PRIVATE
GRANTS OR DONATIONS MADE TO THE PROGRAM.
