Ch. 335 2000 LAWS OF MARYLAND
CHAPTER 335
(House Bill 131) AN ACT concerning Motor Vehicle Administration - Hearings - Venue for Judicial Review FOR the purpose of altering a certain provision of law to provide that the proper
venue in certain hearings concerning the license of a party to drive is in the
county in which the party resides; altering a certain provision of law to provide
that the proper venue in certain hearings concerning a license or privilege of a
party, other than a driver's license, is in the county where the principal place of
business of the party is located; altering a certain provision of law to provide
that the proper venue in certain hearings concerning a party who is a
nonresident motorist is in the county where the conviction for the party's
violation occurred; providing for the application of this Act; and generally
relating to the venue for judicial review of Motor Vehicle Administration
hearings. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 12-209(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland (1999 Replacement Volume and 1999 Supplement) SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Article - Transportation 12-209. (a) (1) Any aggrieved party to a hearing may appeal from a decision or order
of the Administration as follows: IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS SUBSECTION. (1) (2) If the matter concerns the license of [the] A party AN
INDIVIDUAL to drive and the party INDIVIDUAL is a resident of this State, THE
AGGRIEVED PARTY MAY APPEAL to the circuit court for the county in which the party
INDIVIDUAL resides;. (2) (3) If the matter concerns any other license or privilege of [the] A
party, PERSON, THE AGGRIEVED PARTY MAY APPEAL to the circuit court for the
county in which the principal place of business of the party PERSON in this State is
located;. (3) (4) If [the] A party is APPEAL INVOLVES a nonresident motorist,
THE AGGRIEVED PARTY MAY APPEAL to the circuit court for the county in which the
party MOTORIST was convicted of the violation to which the matter relates; and.
