(B) SUBJECT TO THE APPROPRIATION PROCESS IN THE STATE BUDGET, THE
DEPARTMENT SHALL USE THE FUND FOR THE COSTS OF REVIEWING, PROCESSING,
AND AUDITING DOCUMENTS FILED OR REQUESTED UNDER THIS ARTICLE OR OTHER
ARTICLES OF THE CODE. (C) THE STATE TREASURER SHALL HOLD AND THE STATE COMPTROLLER
SHALL ACCOUNT FOR THE FUND. (D) THE FUND SHALL BE INVESTED AND REINVESTED IN THE SAME MANNER
AS OTHER STATE FUNDS. (E) INVESTMENT EARNINGS SHALL ACCRUE TO THE BENEFIT OF THE FUND.
12-701. [(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, fees for the
Department] FEES FOR DOCUMENTS FILED OR REQUESTED UNDER THIS TITLE shall
be as provided for in § 1-203 of this article. [(b) (1) In addition to those fees charged under subsection (a) of this section,
there shall be collected by and paid to the Department for all services described in §
1-203.2 of this article that are requested to be completed within the same day as the
day of the request, an additional sum of $30. (2) The fees collected under this subsection shall be credited to the fund
created under § 9-401.2(3)(b) of the Commercial Law Article.] SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
read as follows: Article - Commercial Law 9-525. (a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (c), the fee for filing and
indexing a record under this part, other than an initial financing statement of the
kind described in § 9-502(c), is: (1) $20 if the record is communicated in writing and consists of eight or
fewer pages; (2) $75 if the record is communicated in writing and consists of more
than eight pages; and (3) $20 if the record is communicated by another medium authorized by
filing-office rule. (b) The number of names required to be indexed does not affect the amount of
the fee in subsection (a). (c) This section does not require a fee with respect to a record of a mortgage
which is effective as a financing statement filed as a fixture filing or as a financing
