of this Act, this Act is not intended to create any inference as to eligibility of any
entity for a property tax exemption under Title 7 of the Tax - Property Article.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July June 1, 2000.

AN ACT concerning
Fishing - Regulation of Pound or Stake Nets
FOR the purpose of repealing a certain requirement to provide certain information in
certain license applications on the placement of certain nets; authorizing the
Department of Natural Resources to adopt certain regulations on the placement
of certain nets, including regulations that impose a certain limit on the number
of locations that may be assigned to a licensee; and generally relating to the
regulation of pound or stake nets.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

4-704.
(a) A person may not catch or attempt to catch finfish in the tidal waters of
the State by the use of any net or other device except hook and line, dip net operated
by hand, spear gun, or bow and arrow pursuant to the provisions of this subtitle
unless he possesses a valid license to catch finfish issued by the Department.
