The Correctional Services Article Review Committee notes, for
consideration by the General Assembly, that the source law for this subtitle
uses the words "judge", "sentencing judge", "court", and "committing
court". There is no apparent consistency regarding the use of one term
versus another. The General Assembly may wish to amend this subtitle to
create uniformity in this area.

SUBTITLE 7. INDIVIDUAL COUNTY PROVISIONS.
11-701. DEFINITIONS.

(A) IN GENERAL.

IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS INDICATED.

(B) COURT.

"COURT" MEANS THE MARYLAND DISTRICT COURT OR A CIRCUIT COURT OF A

(C) CRIME OF VIOLENCE.

"CRIME OF VIOLENCE" HAS THE MEANING STATED IN ARTICLE 27, § 643B OF THE

of the definition of "crime of violence".

11-702. ALLEGANY COUNTY.
(A) SCOPE OF SECTION.

THIS SECTION APPLIES ONLY IN ALLEGANY COUNTY.
