(2) A MEMBER WHO IS APPOINTED AFTER A TERM HAS BEGUN SERVES
ONLY FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED
AND QUALIFIES.

(F) SOMERSET COUNTY.

(1) IN SOMERSET COUNTY, THE COMMITTEE CONSISTS OF THE
FOLLOWING EIGHT MEMBERS:

(I) ONE MEMBER APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR AND NOMINATED
BY THE SENATOR FROM LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT 38;

(II) THREE MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR, EACH ONE
NOMINATED BY A DIFFERENT DELEGATE FROM LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT 38;

(III) THREE MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR TO PROVIDE,
TO THE EXTENT POSSIBLE, LEGAL, LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND BUSINESS
REPRESENTATIVES ON THE COMMITTEE; AND

(TV) A SOMERSET COUNTY COMMISSIONER APPOINTED BY THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF SOMERSET COUNTY.

(2) EACH MEMBER OF THE COMMITTEE MUST BE A RESIDENT OF
SOMERSET COUNTY.

(3) THE TERM OF THE SOMERSET COUNTY COMMISSIONER APPOINTED
UNDER PARAGRAPH (1)(IV) OF THIS SUBSECTION IS EQUAL TO THE COMMISSIONER'S
ELECTED TERM.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 41, § 4-1102(b) through (f).

In subsections (a)(3) and (f)(1)(iii) of this section, the former references to
the three "additional" members are deleted to clarify that these members
are part of the total membership of a committee.

In subsections (a)(1) and (2) and (c)(1) and (2) of this section, the references
to correctional facilities that are "planned for location" are added for
consistency with § 10-402 of this subtitle, which establishes citizens'
advisory committees for State correctional facilities that are located or
"planned for location" in the listed jurisdictions.

In subsection (b) of this section, the reference to an "individual" is
substituted for the former reference to "person" because only a human
being, and not the other entities included in the defined term "person", can
serve on a committee. See § 1-101 of this article for the definition of
"person".

In subsection (d)(2) of this section, the reference to the members' terms
being staggered "as required by the terms provided for members of the
committee on October 1, 1999" is added as standard language. This
addition is not intended to alter the term of any member of a committee.
The terms of the members serving on October 1, 1999, end as follows: In
