"INMATE" MEANS A MALE OR FEMALE OFFENDER WHO IS COMMITTED TO,
UNDER SENTENCE TO, OR CONFINED IN A PENAL OR CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly was Art. 41, § 4-1202(4).

The only changes are in style.

(C) INSTITUTION.

"INSTITUTION" MEANS ANY PENAL OR CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, INCLUDING
BUT NOT LIMITED TO A FACILITY FOR THE MENTALLY ILL OR MENTALLY DEFECTIVE,
IN WHICH INMATES MAY LAWFULLY BE CONFINED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly was Art. 41, § 4-1202(5).

The former reference to inmates "as defined in (4) above" is deleted as
unnecessary in light of subsection (b) of this section which defines
"inmate".

(D) RECEIVING STATE.

"RECEIVING STATE" MEANS A STATE PARTY TO THIS COMPACT TO WHICH AN
INMATE IS SENT FOR CONFINEMENT OTHER THAN A STATE IN WHICH CONVICTION
OR COURT COMMITMENT WAS HAD.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly was Art. 41, § 4-1202(3).

A period is substituted for a semicolon.

No other changes are made.

(E) SENDING STATE.

"SENDING STATE" MEANS A STATE PARTY TO THIS COMPACT IN WHICH
CONVICTION OR COURT COMMITMENT WAS HAD.

COLUMBIA, OR THE COMMONWEALTH OF PUERTO RICO.
