Ch. 54 1999 LAWS OF MARYLAND

  This section is revised using standard language for the creation of a State

unit.

Defined term: "Division" § 3-101
3-518. SAME — MEMBERSHIP.

(A) COMPOSITION; APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS.

THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING 16 MEMBERS OR
THEIR RESPECTIVE DESIGNEES:

(1) THE COMMISSIONER;

(2) THE COMPTROLLER;

(3)  THE SECRETARY OF GENERAL SERVICES; .

(4) A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, APPOINTED BY THE
SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE;

SENATE;

(5) A MEMBER OF THE SENATE, APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE

(6) THE SECRETARY OF HIGHER EDUCATION;

(7) THE CHANCELLOR OF THE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF MARYLAND;

(8) THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS;

(9) THE SECRETARY OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT;

(10) THE SECRETARY OF BUDGET AND MANAGEMENT;

(11) THE SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE;

(12) THE DIRECTOR OF THE PATUXENT INSTITUTION; AND

(13) FOUR REPRESENTATIVES OF PRIVATE INDUSTRY, APPOINTED BY
THE GOVERNOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH SUBSECTIONS (B) AND (C) OF THIS SECTION.

(B) QUALIFICATIONS OF INDUSTRY REPRESENTATIVES.

OF THE FOUR PRIVATE INDUSTRY MEMBERS APPOINTED UNDER SUBSECTION
(AX13) OF THIS SECTION:

(1) TWO SHALL BE REPRESENTATIVES OF MANAGEMENT; AND

(2) TWO SHALL BE REPRESENTATIVES OF ORGANIZED LABOR.
(C) TERMS; APPOINTMENT OF SUCCESSORS.

(1) THE TERM OF A MEMBER APPOINTED UNDER SUBSECTION (A)(13) OF
THIS SECTION IS 3 YEARS.

(2) AT THE END OF A TERM THE MEMBER CONTINUES TO SERVE UNTIL A
SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.
