(6) Each failure to make the annual deposit required under this section
shall constitute a separate violation.

(7) Any penalty imposed and collected under this subsection shall be
deposited to the credit of the State and paid over to the General Fund of the State.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1999.

May 27, 1999

The Honorable Casper R. Taylor, Jr.
Speaker of the House
State House
Annapolis MD 21401

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed House Bill 677.

This bill authorizes the District Court to issue an abatement order as part of the
adjudication of a civil zoning citation issued by a county zoning inspector. Under
current law the District Court may only issue an abatement order for citations issued
by municipal zoning inspectors.

Senate Bill 375, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May
27, 1999, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign
House Bill 677.

Sincerely,

Parris N. Glendening
Governor

House Bill 677

AN ACT concerning

Zoning - Civil Violations - Enforcement

FOR the purpose of authorizing the District Court to include a certain abatement
order in an adjudication of a civil zoning violation; making a stylistic change;
and generally relating to zoning and enforcement.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,
Article 23A - Corporations - Municipal
Section 3(b)(7)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1998 Replacement Volume and 1998 Supplement)
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
