AN ACT concerning

Genetic Information Nondiscrimination in Health Insurance Act of 1999

FOR the purpose of prohibiting the denial of health insurance to certain individuals
based upon the individuals' genetic information; prohibiting the requirement of
genetic information for the purpose of determining whether to issue or renew
health benefits coverage; prohibiting the disclosure of genetic information
without the prior written authorization of the individual from whom the genetic
information was obtained for each disclosure; identifying permissible purposes
for disclosure of an individual's genetic information; defining certain terms;
repealing the termination date of certain provisions of law that relate to the use
of genetic tests; and generally relating to health benefits and, genetic
information.
