AN ACT concerning

Grain Dealers Licensing - Civil Penalties

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Secretary of Agriculture to impose a certain civil
penalty for a certain violation; requiring a certain civil penalty to be paid to a
certain fund; requiring the Secretary to adopt regulations; and generally
relating to civil penalties concerning grain dealers licensing.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Agriculture

13-216.

(A) INSTEAD OF OR IN ADDITION TO SUSPENSION OR REVOCATION OF A
LICENSE UNDER THIS SUBTITLE, THE SECRETARY MAY IMPOSE A CIVIL PENALTY OF
NOT MORE THAN $5,000.

(B) A PENALTY COLLECTED BY THE SECRETARY UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL
BE PAID INTO THE ADMINISTRATIVE FUND AS PROVIDED BY § 13-205 OF THIS
SUBTITLE.

(C) THE SECRETARY SHALL ADOPT REGULATIONS NECESSARY TO
IMPLEMENT THIS SECTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1999.
