For the use of such forces, the Governor is hereby authorized to requisition from
the [Secretary of War] SECRETARY OF THE ARMY such arms and equipment as may
be in possession of and can be spared by the [War Department] DEPARTMENT OF
THE ARMY; and to make available to such forces the facilities of State armories and
their equipment and such other State premises and property as may be available. All
school authorities are hereby authorized to permit the use of school buildings and
school grounds by such forces.

[76.

(a) The provisions of § 47 of this article shall apply to, control and govern the
members of the Maryland Defense Force.

(b) No officer or enlisted man of such forces shall be arrested on any warrant,
except for treason or felony, while going to, remaining at, or returning from a place
where he is ordered to attend for military duty]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 1999.

AN ACT concerning

Maryland Tort Claims Act - Limit on Liability

FOR the purpose of increasing the limit on the liability of the State and its units for
injuries of a claimant arising from an incident or occurrence; providing for the
application of this Act; and generally relating to the limit on the liability of the
State and its units under the Maryland Tort Claims Act.
