(B) (1) "AFTER SCHOOL" MEANS ANY TIME THAT A CHILD SPENDS OUT OF
SCHOOL.
(2) (C) "AFTER-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITY PROGRAMS" INCLUDES MEANS
ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN THAT TAKE PLACE:
(1) BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS EACH DAY AND AFTER SCHOOL
ENDS EACH DAY;
(II) (2) ON WEEKENDS;
(III) (3) ON HOLIDAYS;
(IV) (4) DURING VACATIONS; AND
(V) (5) DURING SUMMER BREAK
(D) "DEPARTMENT" MEANS THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES.
(E) "EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE" MEANS THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE
ADVISORY BOARD.
(G) (F) (1) "FUND" MEANS THE MARYLAND AFTER-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITY
FUND.
(2) "FUND" DOES NOT INCLUDE MONEY PROVIDED UNDER THE
PURCHASE OF CHILD CARE PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE CHILD CARE
ADMINISTRATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES.
(D) "INFRASTRUCTURE ISSUES" INCLUDES EXPANDING THE USE OF EXISTING
PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS.
(E) "INTERMEDIARY" MEANS A GOVERNMENTAL OR NONGOVERNMENTAL
ENTITY SELECTED BY THE DEPARTMENT.
(F) (G) "PROGRAM" MEANS THE MARYLAND AFTER-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITY
FUND PROGRAM.
(G) (H) "TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE" INCLUDES ASSISTANCE IN THE
IDENTIFICATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF EFFECTIVE PRACTICES FOR
AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS.

(A) THERE IS A MARYLAND AFTER-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITY FUND PROGRAM.
(B) THERE IS A MARYLAND AFTER-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITY FUND IN THE
PROGRAM.
(C) THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE ADVISORY
BOARD, SHALL ADMINISTER THE PROGRAM.
(D) THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE SHALL CONSULT WITH THE MARYLAND
PARTNERSHIP FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND FAMILIES IN DEVELOPING THE
PROGRAM'S STANDARDS AND IN OPERATING THE PROGRAM.
