SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the provisions of this Act
shall apply to any cause of action arising on or after October 1, 1999.

AN ACT concerning

Maryland Standardbred Race Fund Advisory Committee - Membership

FOR the purpose of altering the number of members membership of the Maryland
Standardbred Race Fund Advisory Committee; requiring the chairman of the
State Racing Commission to nominate as members certain representatives of
certain licensees a representative from each harness racing licensee; and
generally relating to the membership of the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund
Advisory Committee.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

11-626.

(a) (1) The Advisory Committee consists of [5] 6 members appointed by the
Commission with the approval of the Secretary.

(2) Of the [5] 6 members of the Advisory Committee:

(i) 1 shall be nominated by the chairman of the Commission and be
another member of the Commission;

(ii) [1] 2 shall be nominated by the chairman of the Commission
and EACH ONE shall represent a SEPARATE TO REPRESENT EACH harness racing
licensee;

(iii) 2 shall be nominated by a majority vote of the organization that
represents a majority of Standardbred Breeders in the State, and 1 of those
recommended shall be a commercial breeder as defined by the Commission; and
