(b) (3) THE GOVERNING BODY OF GARRETT COUNTY MAY GRANT, BY LAW, A
PROPERTY TAX CREDIT UNDER THIS SECTION AGAINST THE COUNTY PROPERTY TAX
IMPOSED ON PROPERTY THAT IS OWNED BY THE AVILTON COMMUNITY
ASSOCIATION, INC.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1999.

County to increase the size of the board of the local department of social

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 88A - Department of Human Resources

14.

(a) (1) The local department in each county shall have a board, appointed as
hereinafter provided and herein referred to as the local board. Except as provided in
paragraph (3) of this subsection, the local board shall be composed of [eight members
until June 30, 1968 and of] nine members [thereafter]. The members shall receive
no salary for their services, but their reasonable expenses incurred in attending
meetings or performing other official duties shall be paid. Each local board shall
select its own chairman on July 1st of each year.
